Increase aims to lessen, avoid needless visits: HEC
Islamabad: The degrees and transcripts can also be attested by using courier service and there is no need to visit headquarters of the commission personally, HEC media Deputy Director Waseem Khaliqdad said. He said most of the students did not adopt this facility fearing that they might lose their original documents. He confirmed that the time and money of majority of students was being spent for attestation purpose, but there were students who come here without the required documents. He acknowledged the suggestion of setting up attestation departments in all regional offices across the country. “The number of clerical staff is three to four for one window- operation but staff should be enhanced to accommodate all students in a day, the official said.
Thousands of people visit the commission for attestation of their degrees. Majority comes at the last moment without proper documents, creating hurdles for the staff, he said. “Now after increase in charges the staff will get genuine applicants who need attestation,” the official concluded.
