A flower show was inaugurated at a local golf club by former Punjab Governor Lt-Gen(r) Khalid Maqbool on Friday. Khalid Maqbool in his inaugural comments said that Pakistan was most fortunate to have the best quality of earth and enabled people to enjoy greenery, flowers and crops of top quality. Omer Mir hoped the show would trigger activity amongst rose breeders. Over 14,000 plants displayed over 80 varieties in 99 beds with 40pc roses developed locally. Parvez Qureshi, Col (r) Jamil Khalid, Nosheen Sarfraz, special children, painters, artists and students were also present. The show will continue on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.
