The 30th Annual Spring Flower and Vegetable Show 2012 opened at the Rose and Jasmine Garden here on Friday. The event being organised by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has become a regular feature in spring season and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal inaugurated the event. Member Environment, Mian Waheed-ud-Din, representatives of different public and private sectors were also present in the colourful event.

Speaking on the occasion, CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal said that flowers are the integral part of our life and every effort would be made to promote the culture of flowers in the city.

On this occasion Member Environment, Mian Waheed-ud-Din apprised that the show would continue for three days and prizes would be distributed among the winners of flowers & vegetables exhibition. Many government, semi-government, NGOs and private organisations and individuals are participating in the flowers and vegetables show.

He informed that a large variety of flowers and vegetables are being displayed in the show. The organisations participating in this show are Capital Development Authority, Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Pak PWD, Islamabad Club, Indonesian Embassy, Pakistan Air Force Hospital, National Highway Authority and Pakistan Motorway and Traffic Police and other organisations.
