Through their paintings, the couple aims to apprise youngsters about the historical and cultural significance of their homeland. Hajra’s artworks, under the title ‘MASK’, show human figures, especially women adorned in traditional clothes with historic figures painted on walls in the background.
Meanwhile, Rahi’s work, titled ‘Resurrect Rock Series’, is a vision of free expression with evident use of spontaneous brush strokes. Images of life springing out from lifeless rocks reflect magical evocation of colour, structure and void.
The exhibition was received warmly by the faculty and students at the LCWU, who lauded the work of both the artists.
