Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has stated that Islam is a religion of peace and it strongly condemns all types of terrorism.

He said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Hazrat Syed Ali Hajveri Chair, set up by the University of Karachi, at the Governor House here on Wednesday.

The governor said the saints had played a pivotal role in the preaching of Islam and they strove for spreading the massage of fraternity. “The country is passing through a critical juncture and there is a dire need of spreading the teachings of Islam to remove the misunderstandings against the religion,” Ebad said.

He said that keeping in view the present scenario, we should teach our children lessons of tolerance and include this in our curriculum. He said a chair with the name of Hazrat Ali Hijveri would also be set up at the Sindh University.
