BSEK plans mock exam
Karachi: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) will conduct a mock examination in the third week of March.

A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting on the examinations system at the Governor House here on Saturday.

Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, who is the controlling authority of the education boards in the province, presided over the meeting.

An official said that this would be a one-day exercise for the 9th class and was aimed at making the examination system effective, simple and transparent.

A committee, consisting of the principal secretary to the governor, Mumtaz ur Rehman, Chairman BIEK Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai, Chairman Sindh Technical Board Saeed Siddiqui, and Chairman BSEK, Anzar Hussain Zaidi, presented its report on the occasion.

The meeting decided to reduce the number of examination centres for the 9th and 10th class annual examinations of the BSEK from 436 to 170. The number of invigilators would be based on the average of the candidates rather than the examination centres. The governor said that in view of the success of the experiment, it should be replicated and expanded province-wide.
