2nd Day of Health Asia 2010, International Conferences Observes Enormous Interest and Participation by the Doctors, Practitioners & Academia here, at Karachi Expo Center

Saturday April 03, 2010: The 6th Health Asia 2010, Int’l Conferences in conjunction with 3rd Pharma Asia Int’l Conference & Exhibition, continues to observe enormous enthusiasm and Participation by the Doctors, Practitioners & Academia, on its 2nd and the last day, here at Karachi Expo Center, Today. The 2-Day Int’l Conference was inaugurated by Capt. Dr. Abdul Majid, Special Secretary, Public Health, Sindh, yesterday.

The Event is organized by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, with the support of Federal Ministry of Health, Ministry of Health, Sindh. The 2-day Conferences are comprised on 3 different topics. Quality in Healthcare”, on the 1st day followed by, “Updates in Vaccination and Advancement in Dermatology on the 2nd day.

The Chief Guest of today’s session Prof. Jamal Raza, Prof. of Pediatrics & Director National Institute of Child Health (NICH), opened the 1st half of the session

In today’s session Dr. Rafiq Khanani, President Infection Control Society of Pakistan delivered a presentation on “Adult Vaccination – A Neglected Immunization in Pakistan”. Keeping in view the Pakistani culture & loose awareness on the importance of Adult Vaccination, the speaker explained the Immunization Agents in Adolescents & Adults males/females and also elaborated on the types of vaccination. He also briefed on the introduction of vaccines for special occupations i.e. for travelers, etc. Dr. Khanani summed up on an important topic by adding that ignorance is the main cause of our general health problems.

At the conference, Prof. Dr. Sultan Mustafa, Head of Pediatrics Dept. Karachi Medical & Dental College, conducted a presentation on Chicken Pox. Dr. Mustafa, elaborated the audience on the routes of the disease and its signs and symptoms. He also informed about it as not a benign disease and that how it creates complications in healthy infants and adolescents. He educated the audiences on the diagnosis of the disease its vaccination’s effectivity, safety, and co-administration with other vaccines. It’s a very common disease and highly contagious as 60 million cases are reported annually, he said, but awareness in young mothers can help dealing with the common disease well.

Dr. Sobia Qamar, Peditrician, Liaquat National Hospital, also graced the conference by her informative lecture on Typhoid, Immunization and Preventive strategy to reduce the burden of disease, and also indirect and overall protection. The prenter also elaborated on Vaccination Policy and Strategies. The informative session helped the audience gain knowledge on general diseases.

The occasion also got the privilege of having Prof. Dr. Iqbal Memon, Civil Hospital, and educate the audience on the “Value of Vaccination”.

The informative session at Health Asia 2010, International Conference was highly regarded by both the speakers and the audiences comprising doctors, house-officers, practitioners, house-wives, academia, etc as they were exposed to a useful discussion & sharing of knowledge on some very common diseases among infants & adolescents which are normally not taken much care of.

The Conference will continue till the evening as the next session will focus on a yet another interesting topic among the general public specially the females, i.e “Recent Advances in Dermatology”.

Keeping in view the topic of the session, the 2nd half was also attended with amazing interest and interesting session of questions/answers by the participants. Dr, Tasneem Nakhoda, Aesthetic Dermatologist graced the Event by delivering a speech on “Aging Face”, followed by an informative presentation on “Eczema, Dry Skin & its Management by Dr. Syed Jafar Imam, Dermatologist..

The 2-Day International Conferences ended amid visible fervor equally displayed by the audiences and the presenters who appreciated the continued efforts by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan.
