Students protest against delay BISE Lahore result 2011
the daily times LAHORE Students at the intermediate level staged a protest demonstration against the management of the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) over a delay in issuing result cards on Saturday at the Lahore Board office.
Students chanted slogan against the administration and started destroying the computer section. Board administration had failed to provide result cards of a large number of students even after announcing intermediate results a week ago. Thousands of students were placed in the Result Late (RL) category and students were unable to get admissions in educational institutions whose last date of submission was not extended.
Blunders in the intermediate result had already been exposed when the top positions were changed by Board administration several times and many students’ numbers were not added in the final. The results of only objective exams were declared for many students and numbers were less than expected.
Sources at the Lahore Board told Daily Times that all issues regarding results, roll number slips and result cards were happening due to inefficient IT consultant Majid Naeem who was appointed at Lahore Board. Sources also said that the Lahore Board chairman and controller examiner were both absent on Saturday as they did not want to face the protestors.
Due to the delay in issuing of result cards, major universities of Lahore had extended their last date of submission of forms for admission. Punjab University on Saturday extended their date till 21st September. Government College University and University of Education have already announced an extension of their last date.
The Lahore Board spokesperson said that the results of the students would be announced within 5 days.Daily Times.
