LAHORE: A flower show kicked off at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club on Thursday, with around 14,200 tulips in pink, red, yellow and multi colours put on display.
Punjab Governor Latif Khosa inaugurated the flower show.
Although tulips originate from Turkey, Holland has now emerged as the biggest exporter of tulips in the world.
Therefore, two leading experts from Holland were invited to the event, who will take the stage among 200 local farmers today (Friday) and educate them on how to grow the flower within the country.
Students from the National College of Arts will also attend the show on its second day and paint the tulips as part of a competition, which will be judged by the governor himself.
Moreover, students from the Rising Sun School will also paint tulips. The four-day exhibition is open to the general public.
