Painting exhibition kicks off at Al Hamra Art Gallery by artist, Badar,
LAHORE
A PAINTING exhibition of opened at Al Hamra Art Gallery here on Monday. The artist, Badar, paints all his subjects in the expressionist mode. He said, “I try to apply an appropriate style in painting a given subject to get the best result.
Badar says the soothing and lusciously rendered thickets of flora, creating intricate patterns of tone and form and breaking the trance of lines and colours can only be done in the most realistic manner. He says that he tries to portray as honestly as possible the rural mundane, where time stands still and life is mere existence.
When Badar was asked to explain some of his paintings, which are very intricate and hard to understand, he said, “Actually it is realism. They are hyper-realistic, reflected images, superimposed on each other, creating ethereal shapes and planes. The patterns so created are abstract but at the same time very real. I therefore call this style as ‘Abstract Realism’.
Badar was born comes an agricultural/religious background from Pakpattan. He went to Aitchison College for schooling. Graduated from Government College Lahore and got an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK. He is a businessman and painting is his passion the news
