Islamabad: To flout orders of superior courts has become a fashion of the executive, observed Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday while hearing a contempt of court application against Ministry of Housing and Works officials Kamran Lashari and Golab Zameer.

The IHC judge ordered both officials to appear before the court in person on January 13. The petitioner, Fayyaz Muhammad, executive engineer of Pak-PWD, through his legal counsel Abdur Rahim Bhatti has adopted before the court that he was not restored to his position despite orders of the court on December 27, 2011.

As per details, Fayyaz Muhammad was suspended from his job for three months. The Ministry of Housing and Works neither issued any orders about his suspension after lapse of three months nor extended the suspension orders any further. The ministry, however, did not restore Fayyaz Muhammad to his position. Fayyaz then filed a petition before the IHC where an IHC judge ordered the ministry to restore him. the news
