VICE President of the All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association and Founder of Kite Flying Festival in Pakistan Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen has welcomed the Punjab government’s plan to celebrate the Kite Flying Festival at a designated site near Changa Manga and termed it a morale-boosting decision at the right time and in the right direction.
In a statement issued on Monday, Khawaja Nadeem Wayeen said the decision showed the positive vision of the Punjab government, as permission for kite flying far from the populated areas would certainly save precious human lives on the one hand while attract a large number tourists on the other. He said that the establishment of Kite Flying Zone at Changa Manga and announcement to celebrate the Kite Flying Festival in spring season by Provincial Minister Rana Mashood Ali Khan would not only give new lease of life to the tourism industry but would also give a boost to the Punjab’s economy. Khawaja Nadeem said that he had already rejected the idea of kite flying in populated areas and suggested the government to establish the Kite Flying Zones well out of the cities. He said that this initiative would meet a big success and would not endanger the motorists because of kite flying in the designated area while thousand of people attached with kite flying industry would also get the bread and butter. He urged CM Shahbaz Sharif to constitute a committee to finalise the establishment of more Kite Flying Zones after the success of the Changa Manga experience.
