First, a total of 55,200 Sports and Youth Development Councils of the province took part in the Neighbourhood and Village level, which was the first phase of the festival.
This follows the Union Council level in the second phase, which will continue until September 18. The third phase of Tehsil level will follow the Union Council level.
Lahore s nine towns observe 1,961 people from 18 UCs assemble at different venues to compete in 57 events of sports and general category.
In Nishtar and Gulberg towns, more than 700 participants took part in nine events while 254 showed their abilities in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town.
Shalamar, Wagah, Aziz Bhatti, Iqbal, Ravi and Samanabad towns showed flood of more than 150 youngsters each in their respective competition venues.
In Nishtar Town, general category competitions of cooking were held under the supervision of Social Welfare Department in which 16 participants took part.
Aysha Nazim of UC 137 was the winner while UC 134 s Faiza Naeem was second and UC 138 s Farhat Israr was declared third.
In Ravi Town, Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan addressed a seminar attended by students from private and government schools. MNA Mian Marghoob, Iqbal Dogar, Dr Irum Aziz and Naseem Butt were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, sports and general category events were also held in Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib.
Chakwal witnessed participation of 1,974 people while 1,493 participants took part in different competitions in Attock.
In Sargodha Division, Bhakkar registered 2,714 people from 22 UCs in nine events. Sargodha was represented by 1,502 participants and Mianwali by 1,076 for as many as 80 competitions.
Gujranwala again remained one of the most active divisions where 15,922 people assembled for competition in 99 events. They represented 391 UCs, while the city of Gujranwala had 1,977 participants in 35 events.
