Upper Dir admin best performance rewards NGO for services
DIR: The district administration on Wednesday awarded the best performance award to the Sarhad Rural Support Programme for engaging the local communities in poverty alleviation projects.
Outgoing DCO Upper Dir Ghulam Muhammad presented the award and performance shield to Noor Ajab Khan, the SRSP district manager, at a ceremony here. The DCO lauded SRSP for promoting participatory approach and completing the physical infrastructure schemes through local communities. “The SRSP mechanism is transparent and its targets are the disadvantaged and deprived communities,” the DCO said.
The SRSP is operational in 24 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata and Pata, with an objective to alleviate poverty from rural areas. In Upper Dir, the SRSP mobilised people and formed more than 2,200 community organizations and 3400 of their members were given managerial trainings. the news
