7th NUML Sales Gala Students showcase entrepreneurial skills

ISLAMABAD - The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries announced on Saturday that it would provide the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) students the opportunity to display their products at an up-coming trade exhibition which is to be held in a SARRC country.
This was stated by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Acting President Raja Aamir Iqbal while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the ‘7th NUML’s Sales Gala’.
The event was arranged by the NUML Management Sciences and Mass Communication students at a local hotel. He said the confidence and talent of the students, who were marketing their products at different stalls, was impressive and appreciable.

Huma Rashid a student said that NUML’s Sales Gala was a blend of theoretical learning and practical experience of business, managerial, marketing and entrepreneurial skills. She added that it prepared students for their professional lives and the entrepreneurial challenges that follow. Another student, Mohsin Malik, said he appreciated the management’s initiative of holding the sales gala as it proved to be a lunch-pad for the students.
A total of 35 different stalls were displayed by students from the Managements Sciences and Mass Communication departments in which different products including, dresses, clothes, shawls, stuffed toys, paintings, calligraphy pieces, perfumes, handicrafts, jewelry, shoes, decoration pieces, and electronic appliances were displayed.
One of the unique features of the gala was the exhibition of calligraphic paintings made in the medium of gold by Wasil Shahid, a student of Mass Communication.
He said it was overwhelming that his work was being displayed at such a big event and that the visitor’s appreciation had encouraged him to continue making more efforts in the field.
NUML Rector Maj Gen (retd) Masood Hasan, Director General Brig Azam Jamal, Management Sciences Dean and the heads of different departments also visited the stalls and appreciated the students for their motivation and dedication towards their academics. The gala drew large crowds and will be open to the public for two days.
