Karachi Around 1,819 candidates will appear in the entry test of the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Batch-2012, on November 20, 2011 at the Expo Centre.
SSUET offers education in six faculties and approximately 1200 seats are available in different disciplines. According to the University’s officials, the last date of submission of entry test forms is November 12 whereas forms are being distributed from October 19, 2011.
A meeting conducted by the Chancellor, SSUET, Z.A. Nizami, reviewed the on-going admission process on Thursday. The meeting was also attended by Vice-Chancellor, SSUET, Professor Dr Jawed Hassan Rizvi, Dean of Engineering Professor Dr Najib Ahmed, and Registrar Shah Mahmood Hussain Syed besides heads of Student Affairs and Examination Departments and chairmen of various engineering departments.
The chancellor directed the Registrar and Director Planning to make necessary arrangements for holding of the test at Expo Centre. The meeting was informed that the number of applicants this year was likely to cross the last year’s figure of over 3,800.
It was informed that till November 01, 2011, some 3,368 candidates had obtained prospectus.
This year the process of admission would close by November 12, 2011. So far 190 candidates have applied for admission in Computer Engineering, 696 students for Electronic Engineering, 67 applicants for Telecommunication Engineering, 744 candidates for Civil Engineering, 51 students for Biomedical Engineering and 207 applicants for Computer Science.
Meanwhile, the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) will remain closed from Monday, November 7 to Wednesday, November 9, 2011, on account of Eid-ul-Azha, Registrar, SSUET, said on Thursday. The institution will reopen on Thursday, November 10, 2011, he added.The news.
