THE commemorative postage stamp, issued for Arfa Karim Randhawa, Wednesday received a warm response from the students of Government College University, Lahore, at a special ticket stall set up by Ravians Seniors Club in the university to pay homage to the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).

According to a press statement, GCU Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikramul Haq inaugurated the stall by purchasing the first commemorative postage stamp of Arfa Karim while GCU Students’ Advisor Yousaf Bashir and hundreds of students were also present on the occasion.

Prof Ikram said late Arfa Karim was the epitome of hope for the millions of talented young boys and girls of Pakistan who were yearning to show their talent in a world that was always hostile and unaccommodating towards them. He stressed on Ravians to take Arfa Karim’s struggle from where she left it unfinished.

Talking to the media, students said that they were purchasing the stamps as souvenirs which would always remind them of the glory and respect which the late Arfa Karim bought to the youth of Pakistan. The Ravians Seniors Club in the university set up a special ticket stall, which was inaugurated by GCU Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikramul Haq. The VC was the first one to buy the postage stamp from the stall. GCU Students’ Adviser Yousaf Bashir and hundreds of students were also present on the occasion.
