It is pertinent to mention here that parents of the students have been expressing concerns over the tight examination schedule as witnessed in the recent primary (Class-5) examination 2011 conducted by the PEC. However, according to the Punjab government officials, the date-sheet has been prepared keeping in view convenience of students and their parents. They argue that two simple papers were being conducted in a day as done in the past.

PEF to expand teaching in clusters:The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has planned to expand the Teaching in Clusters by Subject Specialists (TICSS) programme in all the 36 districts of the province.

According to a PEF Chairman Raja Muhammad Anwar, the decision has been taken, keeping in view the success of the TICSS programme in educating science and English subjects in partner schools in 24 districts. He observed that the TICSS was very useful in imparting qualitative education to students of low-income schools who could not afford extra coaching in the subjects.
