LAHORE: The Kinnaird College (KC) for Women celebrated its annual sports day with a lot of zeal and zest on Friday.
Senior Adviser to Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa was the chief guest at the event, whereas KC Principal Rukhsana David and KC Sports Director Nosheen Hanif were also present on the occasion. More than 1,100 students of intermediate and graduate programmes participated in the sports activities, including aerobics, badminton, table tennis, long jump, high jump, 200 metre, 400 metre, and 100 metre races, sack race, obstacle race and three-legged race. Several faculty members also participated in different races and musical chair competition. Speaking on the occasion, Dr David appreciated Khosa’s presence at the sports day and also appreciated Nosheen for organising the event in the best possible manner.
Addressing on the occasion, Khosa advised the students never to compromise on the standards of sportsmanship. He said the government had generously increased funds for sports and co-curricular activities in the educational budget. He added that nations which provided their students equal opportunities of curricular and co-curricular activities always made progress by leaps and bounds. At the end of the event, Khosa also distributed prizes and shields among the winners.
