Scholarship girl student of MSc Communication Studies
PROFESSOR Khalid Mahmood Memorial Scholarship was awarded to a girl student of MSc Communication Studies at the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), Punjab University.
A press release here on Wednesday said a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute and an NGO had been inked at ICS in this regard. Arif Kamal, Acting Director Dr Bushara H Rehman, Abida Ejaz (Coordinator MSc Morning Programme) and other faculty members of ICS were also present on the occasion. The recipient, Sidra Jabeen, is a student of MSc Communication Studies first semester. The scholarship will cover tuition, boarding and lodging for 10 months and a token grant of books to be disbursed in two instalments per academic year.
The scholarship is merit based and awarded to one student and is subject to the recipient completing voluntary community and social services. Late Professor Khalid Mahmood (1935-2011) was an illustrious alumni and teacher of the Punjab University and a well known writer/political analyst with an academic base, served on the editorial boards of two English language dailies. the news
