SSC Annual Examinations commence from 18th
Karachi, April 15: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2011 of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) will commence from April 18. Chairman of the Board Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai said on Thursday that all the preparations in this connection have been completed. He said that as many as 327,000 candidates, both regular and private, will appear in the examination at 225 centres in the metropolis. The admit cards have been dispatched to regular candidates at their respective academic institutions. The admit cards to the private candidates have been sent through UMS at their residential addresses. Board’s chairman further stated that in case a private candidate does not receive admit card then he or she may get the duplicate from the BSEK counter after the Friday prayers. app
BISE Karachi Board SSC Date Sheet Annual Examination 2011: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Sunday issued the date sheet for secondary school certificate annual examinations 2011.
The candidates of class IX (Science Group) will appear in the paper of Pakistan Studies on Tuesday, April 19, English Paper-I on Thursday, April 21, and Chemistry (theory) on Wednesday, April 27.
The paper of Computer Science will take place on Friday, April 29, and Biology (theory) on Monday, May 2, and Sindhi Salees on Wednesday, May 4. Exams will be held in the morning shifts from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
The students of class X Science Group will appear in the papers of Islamiat on Monday, April 18, English Paper-II on Wednesday, April 20, Mathematics on Tuesday, April 26, Urdu Normal on Thursday April 28 and Physics (theory) on Saturday April 30 whereas exams would be hold in morning shifts from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
The candidates of Class IX General Group would appear in the paper of English Paper-I on Tuesday, April 19, Pakistan Studies on Thursday, April 21, and Mathematics on Wednesday, April 27.
Meanwhile, the General Science and Sindhi Salees papers will be held on Tuesday May 3 and Wednesday May 4 respectively. Exams will be hold in the evening shifts from 2:30am to 5:30pm.
The Students of Class X General Groups will appear in the papers of Islamiat on Monday, April 18, English Paper-II on Wednesday, April 20, Urdu Normal on Tuesday, April 26, and Islamic Studies on Thursday, April 28, Civics on Saturday, April 30, Pakistan Studies on Tuesday, May 3, and General Science on Saturday, May 7.
Meanwhile papers of Mathematics will take place on Monday, May 9 and Sindhi Salees on Tuesday, May 10, whereas exams would be held in evening shifts from 2:30am to 5:30pm.
Scientific workshop today: A workshop on “advances in eco-physiology of salt tolerance” is being held from April 11 to 13 at 10:30am at the Institute of Sustainable Halophyte Utilisation, University of Karachi.
The Unesco chair in Sustainable Halophyte Utilisation and Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) would collaborate on the workshop.
The event will focus on recent advances in research on halophyte-highly salt-tolerant plants growing in salinised lands which have gained considerable attention as non-conventional crops.
The aim of the workshop is to discuss various aspects of salt tolerance mechanisms of halophyte which have enormous economic potential all over the world.
Speakers include experts in plant physiology, ecology and molecular biology both from Pakistan and abroad.
