Girls outshine boys in general group
Karachi, July 20: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Tuesday declared the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Part-II General Group (Regular and Private) exams on Tuesday.

Ramsha Majeed of the PECHS Girls’ School bagged the first position with 772 marks, while Fatima Rashid of the same school and Aqsa Yasin of the Gulistan Shah Abdul Latif Girls’ Secondary School secured the second position with 762 marks each. The third position was earned by Ariba Humayun of the PECHS Girls’ School with 753 marks.

A gazette issued by the BSEK stated that 29,807 candidates from both regular and private groups were registered. Of them, 29,163 students appeared in the exams, while 20,171 were declared successful. The passing percentage was 69.17.

Meanwhile, 22,598 candidates were registered in the General Group (Regular) and of them 22,321 students appeared in the examination. In General Group (Private), 7,209 candidates were registered, while 6,842 appeared in the exams.

The gazette further shows that, 5,739 male candidates were registered in the Regular Group and 5,645 students appeared in the exams. Moreover, 29 male candidates received A-1 grade, 337 got A-grade, 1,044 candidates secured B-grade, 1,500 candidates passed their exams with C-grade, 1,038 students achieved D-grade, while 86 candidates got E-grade.

Similarly, at least 16,859 female candidates were registered in General Group and of them 16,676 appeared in the exams. As many as 212 female students bagged A-1 grade, 1,184 candidates received A-grade, 2,804 got B-grade, 4,494 students secured C-grade, 2,721 candidates passed their exams with D-grade, while 149 students achieved E-grade.

In the General Group (Private) category, 5,239 male candidates were registered and of them 4,937 appeared in the exams. Only four male students managed to get A-1 grade, 204 received A-grade, 926 secured B-grade, 1,178 candidates passed with C-grade, 770 received D-grade, while 39 got E-grade.

On the other hand, 1,970 female students were registered as Private candidates. Of them, 1,905 appeared in the exams. As many as 10 candidates received A-1 grade, 90 got A-grade, 311 achieved B-grade, 406 students passed with C-grade, 286 secured D-grade, while 15 students got E-grade in the exams.

The Controller of Examinations, BSEK, Rafia Mallah, said that the result of four candidates were cancelled due to submission of bogus/fake documents. At least 23 unfair means cases were reported by the invigilation team during the exams, while 61 cases were reported by the governor’s special vigilance team.

She added that for the first time, the Board had displayed the result of the candidates, whose results were withheld for want of required documents, permission or registration. Those candidates would get their results as soon as they clear the objections.

Karachi, Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced the matric 10th class (SSC part 2) annual examination results 2011 of General Group on Tuesday July 19, 2011. All the top positions of SSC part 2 results 2011 were taken by female students.

According to the result gazette published by Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) Ramsha Majeed, student of PECHS Girls School clinched first position by getting 772 marks. Second position was shared by two students, Fatima Rashid of PECHS Girls School and student of Gulistan Shah Abdul Latif Girls’ School, Aqsa Yasin by getting 762 marks. Ariba Humayun of PECHS got third position by getting 753 marks.

According to the result issued by BSEK total 29,163 students both regular and private were appeared in the SSC part 2 exam 2011 and 20,171 students cleared the exam 2011 with the pass percentage of 69.17%.

Total 20,171 successful candidates, 255 candidates (241 regular and 14 private) secured A-One grade, 1,815 candidates (1,521 regular and 294 private) got A grade, 5,085 candidates (3,848 regular and 1,237 private) obtained B grade, 7,578 candidates (5,994 regular and 1,584 private) got C grade, 4,815 candidates (3,759 regular and 1,056 private) secured D grade, 289 candidates (235 regular and 54 private) got E grade while 334 candidates (all private) were declared passed in additional subjects.

Controller Examination Rafia Mallah said that students’ result cards will be dispatched to students within 10 days. Regular students can get their result cards from the schools while the private students’ results card would be send to the address that was given by them on their form.
