1st Convocation of the CMH Lahore Medial College ‘Medical profession a mission to serve humans’

LAHORE (PR) – Lahore Corps Commander Lt Gen Rashad Mahmood has said the medical profession was a lifelong mission to serve the cause of humanity; and professional competence coupled with caring attitude towards ailing humans determines the success of a medical practitioner.

Addressing the newly-graduated doctors at the 1st Convocation of the CMH Lahore Medial College on Saturday, Lt Gen Rashad Mahmood exhorted the young graduates that professional competence could only be attained through relentless and enduring pursuit of excellence in the ever-expanding spheres of medical science.

“Pakistan Army, besides its role as the custodian of national frontiers, has always been a forerunner in terms of contribution to nation-building. In this regard, the network of Combined Military Hospitals was making an enormous contribution by providing affordable health services throughout the country,” he said.

He hoped the students of CMH Lahore Medical College would emulate their predecessors and bring a good name to their alma mater. Earlier, College Principal Lt Gen (r) Afzal Ahmad lauded the faculty for outstanding results in the MBBS Final Exam.

LAHORE: Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rashad Mahmood said on Saturday that besides a career, medical profession is a noble lifelong mission to serve humanity.

“It is the professional competence combined with caring attitude towards ailing human beings that determines the success and reputation of a good medical practitioner,” he said while addressing newly graduated doctors at the first convocation of CMH Lahore Medial College.

He told the young medical graduates that professional competence could only be attained through relentless and enduring pursuit of excellence in the ever-expanding spheres of medical science. He said that sense of sacrifice and professional devotion should always be their guide in the haze of social uncertainty, professional competitiveness and lure of fame and affluence.

He advised them that in order to chart honourable course for themselves they should always seek guidance from their teachers and above all from the indispensable virtues of selflessness, sense of purpose and patriotism.

Mahmood said that Pakistan Army besides its role as custodian of national frontiers has always been a forerunner in terms of its contribution in nation building. pr
