Girls outshine boys in HSSC exams Peshawar, July 19: The Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the results of higher secondary school certificate exams here on Sunday.
In pre-medical group, Warda Sohail of Jinnah College for Women Peshawar (JCWP) topped the overall examination by securing 994 marks out of 1,100. Kainat Obaid of JCWP stood second by obtaining 986 marks while third position went to Uroosa Khan with 982 marks.
In pre-engineering group, Mazhar Ali of the Islamia College Peshawar (ICP), topped by obtaining 986 marks. Sheroz Rashid Ahmad Khan of the ICP stood second with 984 marks while Misbah Ullah obtained 981 marks securing third position.
The girls outshined boys in the humanities group as Anum Jan of the JCWP topped with 920 marks. Nazish Tariq and Zaiba Said of JCWP were declared 2nd and 3rd position holders by obtaining 916 and 907 marks, respectively.
Saddam Hussain of ICP topped the general science/computer science group securing 930 marks. Hira Naseem of the Peshawar Model Degree College (women), Dalazak Road obtained 926 marks while Gurmendar of JCWP got 916 marks and both were declared as 2nd and 3rd position holders of the group, respectively.

A YESHA Javaid is a teacher of social sciences at Bahria College. Having done her Masters in Political Science, she is currently busy doing her MS in the same subject while she teaches at the college. Ayesha considers teaching at the school level a good starting point for fresh masters or graduate students looking to step into the teaching profession.
“Being young yourself, you can easily understand students’ problems,” she says. Ayesha opted for the teaching profession with much zeal and enthusiasm about helping bring up the future generation.
About the subject she teaches, Ayesha says that there was a constant demand for the removal of social studies from primary school courses in the past but it is a very important subject as the entire world emphasizes on social studies, it being a complete source of history, where you get to know your country’s past; geography, which helps you understand your environment; and civics through which you get to understand your rights and duties, etc.

B.Com Part-I results 2009

BCom Part-I results declared Karachi, July 08: The University of Karachi (KU) on Wednesday announced the results of BCom Part-I (regular) annual examinations 2009. According to statistics, a total of 16,798 candidates were registered out of whom 16,356 appeared in the exams and 4,116 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 25. The examination department of the KU said that the results of 212 candidates had been withheld for want of registration. A total of 89 cases of unfair means were also reported during the exams, said a press release issued by the KU.

KU M.A examination new schedule Karachi, 16 June: Pro vice chancellor of Karachi university has announced that due to incomplete work of University of Punjab professor who was assigned the task to make M.A question papers, exams have been delayed till July 1 which were expected to start from 17 June.
