PEEF Scholarships Lahore: Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) has launched Masters Level Foreign Scholarships Programme for brilliant and less privileged students to pursue higher education in the top ranking universities of the world. A DGPR handout said under this programme, PEEF had selected 13 students for overseas scholarships for postgraduate level studies for the year 2010. The scholarships are need-based and include airfare, full tuition fees, and stipend for boarding and lodging. PEEF has so far disbursed 10,700 scholarships to the talented and deserving students in local schools, colleges and universities, he concluded.

15 scholarships for flood-affected students Islamabad: Fifteen scholarships for flood-affected students were announced during the annual get together organised here by Quaid-i-Azam University Alumni Association Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Murtaza Noor, secretary general of QAU Alumni Association, highlighted the main achievements of the alumni since its inception. “We have also initiated various programmes for welfare of the students of QAU including need based scholarships and construction of social sciences seminar hall,” he said. He said that scholarships would be awarded to the students belonging to flood affected areas in three years in the disciplines of business education, international relations and economics.
QAU Alumni Association President Sikandar Ahmed Rai said that Alumni of Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad are ambassadors at large within and outside the country and are playing an active role in developing goodwill for the university.
QAU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai who was chief guest on the occasion briefed the audience about different initiatives taken by the university administration for faculty members, institutional development and promotion of research culture. The news
USAID Students Exchange Programme | US scholarships for Fata students

USAID Students Exchange Programme Peshawar, Aug 06: As many as 26 students, selected on merit from different educational institutions in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, are going to avail the scholarship facility under the USAID Students Exchange Programme. They will be accompanied by three female and one male teacher.
This was disclosed by officials at the concluding ceremony of the pre-departure training for Fata students proceeding on 15-day study tour to Washington DC, held at Islamabad the other day.
According to a statement issued here on Thursday, Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani while speaking as chief guest at the ceremony said that the tribal students were very intelligent, bright and dynamic but lacked opportunities, which, if provided, could bring out their worth in education and allied fields.
US Ambassador Anne W Patterson and officials of USAID and Fata Secretariat attended the ceremony besides the parents, students and teachers from the Fata regions.
The governor congratulated the students and their parents for having attained this rare opportunity of visiting USA, adding that the young scholars from Fata would be able to see the world and acquaint themselves with the US education system, lifestyle, culture and the country site.

CLICK HERE FOR DOWNLOAD Karachi Intermediate exams from April 28About 250,000 candidates would appear in the intermediate examinations Karachi, Feb 03: Chairman Board of Intermediate Education Karachi Anwar Ahmed Zai said on Monday that the intermediate annual examination would begin from April 28 in the metropolis.
He said that about 250,000 candidates would appear in the intermediate examinations to be held at some 135 examination centres in the city. In the first phase, the examinations of pre-medical, pre-engineering, computer science and home economics groups would be held.
The chairman said that from this year the first year’s examinations would be conducted under a new scheme. He said that 50 percent of marks would consist of short answers-questions, 30 percent for descriptive answers and 20 percent marks for objectives. Similarly, 85 per cent of the total marks would be for theory examination and rest of the 15 per cent would be for practical examination. App
